Q: What is True Build?

Answer: A series of requirements that make our home's frame and foundations have superb qualities above and beyond govt code that many builders follow.

We meet all the requirements to have a true build home. Every one involved must be certified and each checklist is vigorously followed to be approved.  See our list of a True Build home below. 

True Build quality control checklist

Extra tall extra strong!

  • 9′ Walls in the Basement instead of 8'  or a crawl space
  • 10' first floor walls instead of 9' or 8'
  • 9' second floor walls instead of 8'
  • Wood I-beams instead of 2x12s
  • Advantec Floor boards instead of OSB plywood
  • 2x6 (w/2x8) trusses instead of 2x4 (w/2x6)
  • Steel beams in basement instead of wood load bearing walls to hold up the home. 
  • Poured concrete 8" thick in leu of Cinder blocks. 
  • Real Tyvec Home wrap instead of generic wrap. 
  • OSB Plywood instead of thermoply "skin" or zip system etc.

Tall doors and windows

  • First floor 8' doors, instead of 7' tall doors. Second floor is standard 7' doors. 
  • 6' first floor windows instead of 5' windows. Some front elevations have 7' 1/2 circle top windows.
  • 8' tall by 9' wide garage doors instead of 7' tall by 8' wide garage doors. 
  • All vinyl windows, exterior door trim and all exterior roof and other trim is in made up of a Never-Rot Plastic instead of wood.    


  • Additional strapping in the foundation and frame of the home, above code This may be hurricane straps or bolts.
  • Behind the wall tiles; Full cement board to the ceiling in all showers instead of cement then blue drywall. 
  • Full tile to the ceiling in all showers instead of tile to just over the shower head. 
  • Extensive third party and internal checklists.
  • Exterior stoop step extends length of the stoop instead of three-foot standard.
